I had to do this. One of my favorite webcomic authors and respected colleauges, ZeroSignal from Notunuthaone Online, has been asking me where the light source is coming from inside these dark underground ruins. I had no explaination. Until now! This is a nice little cop out until we find ourselves in a different dungeony situation!
As of right now, I pencil and ink the characters on paper, scan them in and save them as .psd files in photoshop CS3. Then I load them into a blank 3 panel strip with the title (The Adventures of Alex Normalday) and by Steven Baughman and resize, add background, any additional black and white shading and of course the script with word baloons. Then I export that to photoshop again to color it using the "Hi-Fi Coloring for Comics", from Brian and Kristy Miller. Then when I'm satisfied with how it looks, I open the strip in Adobe Illustrator and save it for web and devices as a .gif. I could save the strip in photoshop, but I like the way illustrator does it better. :D
